Overview
The Sparrow with room for two
The Sparrow II widened the original design to seat two people side by side, with dual controls so either seat can fly the airplane. It kept the Sparrow’s basic formula — welded steel-tube fuselage, strut-braced high wing, enclosed cabin — and scaled it for a second occupant.
Side-by-side seating makes the Sparrow II a natural airplane for flying with a friend or family member. The Rotax 582 liquid-cooled two-stroke is the engine historically associated with the model.
An optional folding wing allowed the airplane to be stored in a smaller space or moved on a trailer, a practical feature for owners without a dedicated hangar.

How the Sparrow II is built
Fuselage and cabin
A widened welded 4130 steel-tube fuselage carries two seats side by side in an enclosed cabin, with dual controls.
Wing and covering
Strut-braced high wing with aluminum spar structure and fabric covering. A folding wing was available to make storage and trailering easier.
Landing gear
Tricycle landing gear.
